been watching musical since i was in high school. I began loving them
when I discovered my talent really was and i belong in theater.. in the
world of music..
I really love musical show whether it's a movie or in broadway.
Because
of so much loving to them I took a week to write this post!!! I cannot
choose so i rely on peoples choice... and it down to 13 best... well
there's thirteen of them, see where they tie...

is composed by Henry Krieger and was shown in broadway in December
20,1981.It is all about the three girls who want to be famous, as the
time goes by they get their dream came true until one of them gets out
of the group. This was the way of Jennifer Holliday (as Effie White) to
make her name out of the stage. It has been revived two times in
broadway until the Motion Pictures made a movie rendition, in 2006. The
film gross was about $80 million. And it was a blockbuster film starring
Beyonce Knowles (as Deena), Jamie Fox (as Curtis Taylor) and the
American Idol Alumni , Jennifer Hudson (as Effie White).. and many
more... :)

Chicago
premiered in Broadway in June 3, 1975. Composed by John Kander.It was
revived in broadway in November 14, 1996 and it was named as the 6th
Longest running musical in broadway because it is still on the run this
current time. The story of Chicago is about the murderesses who was
claimed to be divas in the jail. In 2002, Chicago was reinvented as a
movie by Miramax Films and other productions. It was directed by Rob
Marshall. They adapt the musical but gives a twist to become more
realistic and cinematic at the same time. The roles were given to
Catherine Zeta-Jones (Velma Kelly), Renee Zelweger (Roxie Hart), Queen
Latifah (Mama Morton) , and Richard Gere as (Billy Flynn). There is the
special participation of Taye Diggs and many others. The movie hits 300
million plus..as the gross in come! I have watched this movie, and i can
tell you it was magnificent!

Chicago here is the CATS by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It was based on the
novel Practical Cats. The musical is about the cats celebrating they're
Jellicle Ball awaiting Old Deutoronomy to choose who will be the one
that is going to the heavenside layer. They're introducing themselves
one by one. Cats was opened in broadway in October 7, 1982 and it was
acclaimed as the 2nd longest running musical in Broadway. In 1998, Cats
was recorded to broadway and released in stores in 1998 starred by
Broadway legends Ellaine Paige. It was opened in Manila , Philippines
last two years ago and Lea Salonga played the role of Grizabella, same
as Ellaine Paige.

Sound Of Music by Richard Rodgers was critically acclaimed by viewers
and audience. One of the Broadway's Best. It was opened in Broadway in
Nov. 16, 1959 and was revived at March 12, 1998. It was filmed in 1965
were Julia Andrews stars as Maria. It's about a nun who is forced to
leaved the Abbey and be a governess to a soldier. The musical was famous
to the globe, at current times, it was still running in the
Philippines.

chorus Line by Marvin Hamlisch, was acclaimed as 4th longest running
musical show in Broadway. It was a story about the collection of dancers
who are introducing themselves and they're experiences for the audition
of a broadway production. The musical premiered in broadway in July
25, 1975 and revived in October 5, 2006. In 1985, a film from Embassy
productions was released.

Jacobs and Warren Casey's Grease, was opened in Broadway in 1972 and
revived both in 1994 and 2007. Considered it was the 13th Longest
running musical in broadway. 1978 when Paramount Pictures made this as a
film starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. The story is about,
a girl and a boy who had a summer fling and gets back to school. When
Sandy, the girl, knows that the boy he knew last summer was not the real
boy in school.

Legally
Blonde was started as a movie of Metro-Goldwyn Productions in 2001
starred by Reese Witherspoon as the president of Delta-Nu Sorority named
Elle Woods. The story is about a girl who was dumped by his boyfriend
by the night she thought that he will be asking her to marry. His
boyfriend was pursue his dream and study in Harvard University. Because
of that Elle motivated herself and go to Harvard University too. She
will be studying Law as his ex-boyfriend's course. But as the time
turns, she stood up and end up as the valedictorian in the class and a
winner in love, not to his Ex, but to a new guy named Emmit. April 2007,
The movie was turned into a musical and premiered in broadway. It was a
landslide and critics was applauding to the success of the musical.

Miss
Saigon by Alan Boubil and Claude-Michael Schronberg, is considered as
10th longest running musical in broadway still on these days.Miss Saigon
started in broadway in 1991 and has 4,092 shows. This musical
originated at west-end and considered as a legend. Lea Salonga is one of
the original lead stars that played at the west-end, this is the way
how Les get the fame that she has now. Miss Saigon filled with many
controversy as it running in west-end and in Broadway. But, despite of
this, Miss Saigon have been acclaimed by many prestigious awards. Lea
Salonga won a Tony for Best Actress in a Musical, as Jonathan Price won
the Best Actor in a Musical. Not only in Tony but to other award table
that people knew. Miss Saigon, as the title implies, lies on one of the
cities of vietnam that is known for Ho Chi Minh city as of today. It is
about a vietnamese girl who turned herself a whore but the first night
she fell in love to her customer, a G.I. Soldier. As the story
continues, a very tragic and a series of unfortunate events happen that
leads the girl to kill herself. There is a rumors as today that a
revision of Miss Saigon in the Big Screen will be release on 2012.

was considered as the 18th longest running show in broadway, since it
was opened in 2003. The original cast of Wicked are Idina Menzel and
Kristin Chenoweth. Idina Menzel won a Tony award for Best Actress and
the musical also won two sets of award in Tony. Wicked is a prequel of
"The Wizard of Oz", The story of the two witches in different tracks,
Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of West.. they're Best friends you
know until it won't workwell.. Wicked still is running in broadway.
There is a rumors that 2012 or 2013 ,Wicked will be revived in movie.

by Marc Shaiman opened in broadway in 2002. Make as 17th longest
musical running on broadway. They made 2642 shows. The musical is about a
fat girl who is obsessed to an oriented TV show and make her own way to
step into and be a part of that show. The musical gets 8 Tony Awards in
2003. in 2007, the cute musical turned into a movie version, Many large
stars collide in this movie. Not to metioned, John Travolta made an
excellent job of becoming a mother in this movie.. haha, yes, his role
was a woman...

Miserables like Miss Saigon is a masterpiece of Claude
Michael-Schronberg. Les Miserables was the 3rd longest running Broadway
musical. It was based to Victor Hugo's novel, and a story flows to the
characters contentedly. In 1998 a film same title, same story was
released. A rumor flows that next year, 2012, Les Miserables will have
another movie rendition but it will adapt the musical version. I hope
that works. :) If I'm the one who will be placing the cast, Fantine's
role will be great for Lea Salonga, As she portray it in roadway and the
25th anniversary really well, Dianna Argon for Cossette will be nice
too, what do you think?

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera was ended in Top 2, well, it
was the 1st longest running musical show in Broadway! The show is still
running as of today and have it's sequel as it's opened in 1988. The
original cast Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman was replaced by other
Actors. The musical is about the phantom of the opera who is
obsessively in love with an actress. It was Awarded by Tony in 8
different category including Best Musical! In 2004, the reinvention of
phantom in a movie. Starring Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler.A rumor that
the sequel of phantom, Love Never Dies will be playing in movie.. hmm..

This one is snap!!! I love this musical!!! damn! Yes it is too much for
young kids but this is reality.. Rent by Jonathan Larson. It was
dedicated to the ones who is HIV and AIDS positives. For Gay people and
it shows the different personalities can a man have. Rent was opened in
Broadway in 1996. It was considered as the 9th longest musical running
in broadway. Rent is a story of a group of characters who are striving
to reckless demolition because they cannot pay their rent. A petition
was held and a rally follows. As some of character struggled in love,
HIV,AIDS,Discrimination and Self-abandonment. Rent was revived into
movie in 2005. As almost all of them was the Original Broadway Cast. Not
to mention how Idina Menzel carried her gay role, and she has a butt
exposure!!! When I watched Rent Movie I was laughing at first then when
Angel dies, I was crying the whole time... :) well, Thumbs up!
